Option 1: All-Over Freehand

All-over freehand is exactly that. The design is applied freehand over the entire quilt, and does not depend on the underlying piecing.

A - Large freehand
(greater than one inch apart)………………….………..$0.01/square inch

B - Medium freehand
(approximately one inch apart) …………….…..….$0.0125/square inch

C - Small freehand
(approximately one-half inch apart………...…....$0.015/square inch

Option 2: Pantographs

(allover edge-to-edge)

 

Level 1– simpler design, usually larger in size………...$0.0125/square inch

Level 2– medium density, more intricate design……….$0.015/square inch

Level 3- Complex Pantographs
(includes multiple line pantographs and very dense pantographs)…….………………………………………………………………………………………….....$0.02/square inch

Option 3: Custom

Labor intense designs in some areas of the quilt.  Basic sashing and border treatments, simple feathers, echo quilting, ruler and/or template work, SID in some areas. ……………………………………………………….. $0.025+/square inch

Creative Detail
Labor intense designs over entire quilt.  Separate block designs, sashing
and border treatments, detailed feathers, echo quilting, dense stitching,
crosshatching, mirco-stippling, McTavishing, ruler and/or template work,
complex designs, marking of quilt, intense SID, ………………………………………………………………………………..…$0.026-.035 /sq inch

 

To determine the square inches in your top, measure the length by the width to get square inches.  Multiply by the pricing service to get an estimate of the quilting costs.  For example, a 48 x 60 inch baby top would be 2,880 square inches.  An allover edge-to-edge medium pantograph of this quilt would be $47.20  (with thread charge)

If you see a specific pantograph, stencil, or other pattern that you think you might like for your quilt, please bring the name of the pattern and the company that makes it.  Most major pattern and stencil companies have websites, and I can usually order the patterns and get them in a few days.

Thread

I have a large variety of thread and I can order in any colors that you would like.  Thread charges for standard cotton or cotton covered polyester thread are $4.00-$10.00 quilt, based upon quilt size and density of quilting.  Thread color changes are an additional $4.00 per color.  I can order in specialty threads, such as metallic.  Prices for specialty threads may vary, and I will give you the thread costs when we agree upon quilting services.

Batting and Backing

 

Cotton, Cotton Blend, Wool and Polyester Batting are available at actual cost

The only backing I have on hand is Muslin in 108” white or natural at actual cost
